SnoozeShade... A Total Winner!

Summer safety!
Like most of you I’m sure I cannot wait for some Summer fun. Summer to me means sand, sea, picnics paddling pools in the garden and family bbq’s in the evening. For all these fab pastimes of course a key ingredient is summer sun. This is where you can run into problems with a little bubba to keep safe.

There is so much more in the way of public education with regard to sun damage that we are all very aware of its dangers, particularly for delicate baby skin. I was busy trawling the internet looking for some kind of sun shade for Alyssa when I was contacted by the lovely people at Snoozeshade. They very kindly sent me one of their pushchair shades to try out. I really hoped it would be successful as i had previously tried a parasol which was next to useless as as soon as you move your pushchair it's in the wrong place to provide shade!
First of all i found the Snoozeshade to be really well made from a sturdy durable polyester fabric that allows a high level air permeability due to the woven nature of the fabric. This air permeability allows the temperature inside the pushchair and cover to remain cooler.
It has easy to follow instructions to put the shade on your pushchair but it really is easy to do and I think most people wouldn't need them but it's obviously best to check you are using your shade to the manufacturer's instructions to get the best result for your baby. I love the fact that this product actually exceeds british safety standards. Every little thing is taken into account so there are no “bits” that a baby can pull off and choke on, no long dangly bits to cause a strangulation risk and even the zip is the best that money can buy.

Once on the pushchair i decided to take Alyssa for a quick scoot round the village, the sun was out and i wanted to try out my new shade. Alyssa is never averse to a trip out and we took off for our trial run. Now on the version i was sent there is a panel that you can leave open if your bubba is an inquisitive little soul and wants to look around. Alyssa likes lying back in her chariot watching me push her and “chatting away. I left the “window” panel closed as it was so sunny and as it is an open weave mesh she could still see me. The shade protects your baby from up to 97% of uv rays which is amazing and a lot more than my old parasol! An unexpected bonus for me was that Alyssa dropped off to sleep in her pushchair! Yay this is a first.

No more days out marred by an overtired, overstimulated baby who won't have a nap! I have to say i think this was due to the fact the shade blocks 94% of light so making for a more sleep inducing atmosphere. When I checked on her the inside of the shade wasn't stuffy due to the air movement through the permeable fabric and it's easy to peep inside without letting lots of light in. As we live in the countryside we get more than our share of flying bugs and critters too and this wonderful shade kept those off of Alyssa beautifully! Once i got back home I parked Alyssa in the back garden in front of the window , where she slept peacefully for over an hour (woohoo) while i beavered away in the land of blog.
Do i rate the Snoozeshade ?? Oh yeah, 100%.
